Discussion Guidelines
Focus on Scripture
Ground discussions in biblical truth rather than personal opinions or traditions alone
Speak with Humility
Acknowledge that we all see through a glass darkly and can learn from each other
Seek Understanding
Try to understand others' perspectives before seeking to be understood
Maintain Unity
Remember that our unity in Christ is more important than winning arguments
Healthy Boundaries
Core Beliefs
We affirm essential Christian doctrines: Trinity, salvation through Christ, biblical authority
Secondary Issues
We allow respectful discussion on denominational differences and non-essential matters
Forbidden Topics
We don't allow promotion of non-Christian religions, cults, or heretical teachings
Moderation
Harmful discussions may be limited or closed when a report is reviewed
Reporting and Moderation
We are developing the processes needed to care for this community responsibly. We do not yet promise a fixed response time or an independent appeals team.
How to Report
If you encounter harmful or inappropriate content or behavior:
- Use the reporting option where available
- Email support@churchgate.org
- Include enough detail to help us identify the content or account
Please avoid sending sensitive personal details unless they are needed to explain the concern.
What to Expect
Reports will be handled as promptly and consistently as our current capacity allows. We are still developing our reporting and moderation processes.
We cannot guarantee a particular response time or that every report will receive a personal reply.
Consequences
Violations may result in:
- Warning and education
- Content removal
- Temporary restrictions
- Account suspension
- Permanent ban (severe cases)
We always seek restoration and reconciliation when possible.
Questions About a Decision
If you believe a decision about your content or account was made in error, email support@churchgate.org with the decision and why you disagree. We will consider your message as capacity allows.
We do not yet have an independent appeals team or a fixed review timeframe.
